ByCarlos VicenteAfter two years and a half away from CEPIC, last January I started working as a member of the Berlin office staff again. And it just feels right being back. These are some of the changes and improvements for 2011.

The best thing about working with the CEPIC staff is that we are a small but very close group of people. Let me introduce them to you.

ByTomas JensenWow – what a week it was here in Istanbul at the CEPIC Congress 2011! Microsoft is very grateful to have been able to support this year’s CEPIC gathering – an honor and a privilege.

Personally, I had the opportunity to meet with colleagues from the picture industry from all over Europe, from Japan, Canada and the United States. As different as individual topics were, my learnings were always the same: The picture industry is dynamic, vibrant and always re-innovating itself – something it definitely has in common with the IT industry. With new distribution channels and business models, all made possible with and through the internet, come a lot of challenges – but also opportunities inside and outside of the value chain within the photo industry as we know it today.

BySylvie FodorI have several CEPIC Congresses behind me. Istanbul 2011 already belongs to my top four. And my Best Of this year will undoubtedly be ...

  • The private visit to the Hagia Sofia on Thursday evening

It was a privilege and a delight for the senses to visit this beautiful building, a world heritage site, after closing hours. We had the building for ourselves: the candle lights, the tranquility and the memory of centuries past. The guides were learned and witty. And we met the cat, Obama, named after the President of the United States, strolling in between the columns of Saint Sofia with little fear of tourists.

ByChristina VaughanI am overwhelmed by your messages of support and appreciation as well as the feedback that Saturday’s Party was the best industry party ever!

Our Congress in Istanbul closed on Saturday evening in the auspicious and elegant grounds of the beautiful Esma Sultan Mansion. CEPIC came of age in Istanbul – just 18 years since her inception in 1993.

Almost 600 people from more than 40 countries came to Istanbul to do business, to find new distribution partners, to meet with existing partners, to discuss ideas, innovation and new products together.
