Using Metadata To Power Your Business

This half-day conference focused on business related best practices for using photo metadata. The results from a survey among photo businesses and their clients showed how metadata is used currently and what improvements are requested. The core of the Conference was an extensive "How To" session on applying metadata at different stages of photo workflows based on brand new IPTC metadata panels. The session included the first public presentation of a controlled vocabulary for images and other visual content, currently under development by an IPTC working group. As a third focus the Conference addressed how technical systems for searching images work and how this is influenced by metadata.
