Photojournalism is a very special field within the photo industry. In fact, Journalism is an important piece of both our modern democracies and economies. As part of the public sphere, Journalism has always been challenged by the State and private bodies. As a profession, Journalism needs to invent new ways and to seize new opportunities for assuring its independance, political and financial, and its specificity. And Photojournalsim faces the same challenges as Journalism !
The European Federation of Journalists has made a survey on the situation of photojournalism in the world. Renate will introduce the findings of the survey in a few slides.
SURVEY (in English but available in other languages). This presentation will introduce the session which is not about the problems of photojournlism but about its new ways.
