Today, a pivotal new report by the Culture, Media and Sport Committee has been released calling for better support and compensation for creators, through a statutory scheme to pay them for their copyright, and the establishment of new support mechanisms for freelancers. One of the standout recommendations from the report is the implementation of The Smart Fund, which is aimed at compensating creators for private copying of their content.
