First Microstock Expo in Berlin was a success
The organisers: Lee Torens and Amos Struck. by Adam Berry/MicrostockExpo
ByKlaus Plaumann"What can microstock agencies do against the saturation of the market?"
This question was asked by Dietmar Frohmann (iStockphoto) during the Agency Workshop. Do we have to develop new products? What kind of Lifestyle do we have to produce for our clients?
Speakers and exhibitors from the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India or Russia; as well as photographers from Europe to Aserbaijan joined the Expo for interesting discussions. A number of panels and presentations made the two days from 4th to 5th November in Berlin an unmissable get together for the Microstock Community.
The conference was a brilliant place to learn more about the different global markets. Russia was a very interesting part of this as well as the photographers actions to produce for microstock agencies. Agencies provided informations about their photographers productivity, their income and what percentages agencies offer for different amounts of pictures that photographers are delivering to them.
Amos Struck and Lee Torrens managed to organized the Expo within a pretty short time – the first preparations had started in June 2011. The venue was a modern and huge hotel that offered business rooms for meetings and presentations, good food and beverages and the necessary technology. More than 150 guests made the first Microstock Expo in Germany a true success.
The expo was not only a good place for discussions but also for shootings: a free photo shooting with three fancy models had been organised for photographers. They were very busy and enjoyed their action!
