We will also look at the impact of low-cost RF suppliers and whether the success of this model has implications for all forms of image licensing.

The Numbers Game – What does it mean for photography in the 21st century? It is estimated that the world’s population will take over a trillion photos in 2015 and by 2017 nearly 80% of ALL images will be taken on mobile devices. Uploaded, shared, favourited and pinned we also have a mass of online image duplication. This panel questions whether the picture industry can beat the numbers game and asks researchers how they navigate their way through the imagery of the 21st century.

Future Technology Trends – How can today’s technology be used to our benefit? As online platforms have evolved and the way in which images are sourced and framed, we look at what technology solutions are prevalent and discuss how we can utilise them to our benefit. Examining a variety of technologies, from embeds and social media APIs that rely on code rather than digital files that engage cross-content sharing and distribution, to crowdsourcing and platishers offering community-lead platforms that encourage new image creators to publish their photographs. We’ll discuss whether we can use the same technologies to enable picture libraries and picture buyers to utilise and curate the ultimate collections for the new ‘user’ generation.
