An organisation with History
Founded in 1993, the Coordination of European Picture Agencies (CEPIC) emerged from a shared vision among European picture agencies to unite and protect their interests. The organisation's roots can be traced back to the early 1990s when industry leaders like Justus Göpel, CEO of Akg Images in Berlin, recognised the need for a unified voice to address the challenges and opportunities of the evolving visual content landscape.
Since its inception, CEPIC has been at the forefront of advocating for the rights of visual creators and promoting fair practices within the industry.
The organisation has played a crucial role in shaping copyright laws, negotiating licensing agreements, and addressing emerging issues such as digital rights management and AI.
