The AGENDA of the MEETING is as follows:

11.00 H - 13.00 H Formal Meeting

I. 2022: A Year of Recovery

  • Registration in Brussels

Our Registration as an AISBL has been completed and we are very excited to be this new entity which gives us much more flexibility around growth and non-EU expansion.
Our new Offices are at BELGA and we have opened a new bank account!  New Administrative structures are now in place, notably we have a new notary and an accountant. We are really pleased with these changes that position us positively for the future.

1.2. Main Data on the Congress 2022

Thanks to a strong Congress in 2022, CEPIC has recovered from the pandemic and is back in business and to growth, after a very difficult period from 2019-2021.
We built on this progress in 2023. Notably, sponsorship has grown significantly, highlighting the relevance of CEPIC and its global audience - we now have a mixture of larger and smaller sponsors, as shown in the attached document.

Participation to the Congress had been lower in Mallorca 2022, the first post-pandemic Congress - but was stable in 2023 - to around 250 participants.

The EGM will devote some time for a discussion on Congress perspectives and expectations.

There will be a presentation and a discussion on CEPIC’s strategy with regards to upcoming EU legislation and what CEPIC has achieved in the 2022 period.

With the post-COVID recovery, CEPIC has resumed its activities in Brussels.

The present legislative work focuses on:
- Digital Services Act (DSA), which monitors the activity of so-called "gatekeepers" online. This activity will continue in 2023 as the DSA is being enforced across the EU.
For CEPIC see: NEWS | CEPIC
- AI legislation in the making - in the EU - but also in the UK, in coordination with CEPIC members BAPLA
In October 2022, Christina Vaughan and Sylvie Fodor attended a meeting at the UK Copyright Office after the letter sent by Christina Vaughan.
