Magnum Photos has announced the departure of its CEO, David Kogan after over four and a half years at the helm. Kogan is stepping down on 1 March 2019.
Magnum say:
Amongst the many developments and innovations that Kogan introduced during his time at Magnum, some of the highlights include the launch of the agency’s B2C division including its recent online education course and the launch of its digital publishing platform magnumphotos.com. Kogan has also brought in external investment to stabilise the famous photography collective and during his tenure, Magnum’s revenue saw a substantial increase.
On his time at the agency, David Kogan says: “It has been a great pleasure to be a part of Magnum these past years, in particular around the agency’s 70th anniversary celebrations. I am delighted to have played my part and to have contributed to the future sustainability of this legendary co-operative.”
Thomas Dworzak, the president of Magnum Photos, adds: “David has had an enormous impact on the agency. I would personally like to thank him for his dedication and contribution over the years. We’re excited for Magnum’s next chapter, building on David’s accomplishments.”
