Press Release

Six press photo agencies join efforts at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad

22 July 2024 - PARIS/BRUSSELS/STOCKHOLM/ZAGREB/NEW YORK

Six agencies from Europe and the United States are proud to announce they have formed an alliance to enhance and expand coverage of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris.

Abaca Press (France), belgaimage (Belgium), Bildbyrån (Sweden); Icon Sport (France), PIXSELL (Croatia) and Sipa USA will leverage the talents of nearly forty of their best photographers to cover the quadrennial event.

Each participant in the alliance will have its own national editorial focus while at the same time giving additional resources to those partners who might require unique coverage. For example, in addition to covering the Swedish team, Bildbyrån photographers will also shoot Croatian swimmers and the photographers from Icon Sport will cover the American soccer teams on days when there will be no French team on the field.

Because of this unique agreement, the participating agencies will cover at least 20% more matches and athletes that they could individually. This will greatly enhance the service they provide to their national clients.

Philippe François, chief Imagery from Belga said “I am really excited to bring the longstanding partnerships with these fine colleagues to the next level. It will surely strengthen our mutual market positions. It’s a simple idea that just needed the extra bit of trust and professional courage these six partners surely have!”

Jonathan Wells, president of Sipa USA said “We hope this alliance will provide the structure and be a model for expanded cooperation with our partners.”

Jean-Michel Psaila, CEO of Abacapress: ”We are stronger together and will get the best coverage on majors events coming.”

Niklas Larsson, CEO of Bildbyrån said “True to the Olympic spirit this cooperation will make us all better. The combined talent of our photographers will ensure that these games and their historic moments are captured in remarkable ways.”

Petar Glebov, managing director of PIXSELL : “This cooperation comes naturally as a development of our longstanding and successful partnerships.”
