On September 28th, 2022 EVA Artists celebrated its 25th anniversary!
Many friends of visual artists attended the conference organized for the occasion: several visual artists, their representatives, some representatives of the creative industry, including CEPIC, political representatives.
CEPIC and EVA have been collaborating since 2099 on various issues at European level: orphan works, Google Images, the European Copyright Directive, notably Article 17 which concerns the uploading and sharing of creative works online.
Marco Giorello, Head of Unit for Copyright in the European Commission. (DG CONNECT) discussed the implementation of the directive while participants exchanged their experience in licensing and extended collective management.
It’s been a long road, and there’s still a long way to go, but we will continue to fight for all visual artists and producers of visual content, photographers and picture agencies, all licensors of visual media, to participate in the value generated online by the sharing of their works.
