Generative Artificial Iintelligence: What Are The Challenges For Photographers?

On 6th July at 17.00 H within the framework of the prestigious Arles Photo Festival CEPIC will take part in a round table on the ethical and legal challenges around generative AI.

Speakers:

Valérie-Laure Benabou, Professor of Law, Qualified Person at the Conseil Supérieur de la Propriété Littéraire et Artistique (French High Council for Literary and Artistic Property)
Sylvie Fodor, Director, CEPIC
David Raichman, Creative Director, Ogilvy / AI artist
Christophe Ralite, Chairman, Pixtrakk
Moderator: Stéphanie de Roquefeuil, Legal Director, UPP

Generative AI has not waited for a legal framework before entering the field of artistic creation. Its  explosive growth has created a rapidly developing economic market. However, legal and ethical questions raised by the sustained use of generative AI remain unanswered at this stage, and have barely been formulated.

Stakeholders in this innovative ecosystem have come together here to discuss the challenges of generative AI in photography: how can we take advantage of the opportunities it offers while setting the necessary limits on its use? Will it be possible to reconcile creativity, ethics, copyright and technology?
