Imaginechina has been acquired by Bytedance, a digital tech company based in Beijing.
Imaginechina will continue to operate independently as a photo, video and commercial licensing agency serving editorial media, advertisers, creative agencies and brands, in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Bytedance is mainly known for its APP platform Toutiao (今日头条), a news application which is used by more than 500 Million users in China. It is one of the fastest growing company since created by Zhang Yiming in 2012. The Company has over 1000 engineers and has developed formidable tools and technology that will help the agency to acquire and develop data and artificial intelligence driven technology, aggressively expand its presence in the mobile information world, and enter into a new phase of very exciting development in China.
There won’t be any change to existing partnerships and agreements and contacts with Imaginechina remain unchanged.
