Sandra Powlette, Picture Library Manager for the British Library, will be speaking at the CEPIC Congress Seminar on Cultural Heritage which will be held in Zagreb on 26th May from 16:30 – 17:30.
Sandra has worked for the British Library for 24 years, 18 of those years in the Picture Library, firstly working as a Rights Assistant, Rights Manager and now the Picture Library Manager. A year into her role in 1998, while studying accountancy Sandra saw an opportunity to use her love for figures to change the right pricing structure, this bought in significant revenue and the rest is history. Her biggest achievements are negotiating a single rights deal for £10k, bringing British Library images into primary and secondary schools and working as a club secretary for a youth football team for disadvantaged boys.
