Stefan Voss is the head of verification at dpa. He has been working for the Deutsche Presse-Agentur for over 20 years, including more than a decade as a foreign correspondent in Ukraine and Russia.
Since 2017 Stefan has built up a team of verification experts in dpa’s Berlin newsroom. He is also responsible for a team of more than 30 fact-checkers who discover and refute false claims in social networks in six European countries.
dpa has published more 3.000 fact-checks. Stefan and his team have started a huge project to train journalists in Germany. So far more than 300 journalists have participated in workshops on Digital Research, Verification and Fact-Checking. Their goal: A lot more fact checking units on national, regional and local level!
