Annette Feldman has been a member of the Technology group at the Associated Press since 2007, currently holding the position of Information Management Architect. She works with AP‘s business, editorial and technology stakeholders to leverage metadata for stories told in all formats. The challenges in getting photo metadata right mirror those in the rest of the high speed, high volume news production workflow: maximizing value while minimizing the workflow impact. In a world where customers want seamless packages of multimedia content to tell the story of the day, aligning metadata for all content formats is key. Annette’s background is in Linguistics, Business Management and Information Science, and she has been involved in business data and metadata work for over 25 years. She has been a member of the IPTC‘s Photometadata Working group for 8 years, bringing a news agency perspective to the broader photo metadata conversation.
