Joaquín Cuenca Abela is speaker for the  CEPIC Congress seminar The Business Of Free which will be held on 25 May 2016 in Zagreb.

Joaquín Cuenca founded Panoramio in 2005, creating the biggest repository of user contributed, geolocated online photography in the world. It was integrated in Google Maps and Google Earth and acquired by Google in 2007, where Joaquín worked during 3 years. In 2011 Joaquín co-founded Freepik with Alejandro and Pablo Sanchez. Freepik started as a vertical search engine of free illustrations. In 2013 we bootstrapped the creation of our own illustrations, carefully designed in-house and licensed with CC, and we launched Flaticon where we replicated the same core ideas to monochromatic icons, at that time another underserved and unexploited niche. Today the company employs over a hundred creatives distributed over the entire world, and contains the biggest public fully owned repositories of illustrations and monochromatic icons in the world. Joaquín is an active angel investor with a sizable position in other successful (and some not so successful) Spanish companies.
