Anna is a Solicitor Advocate in the UK specialising in IP and media law. In the course of her practice, Anna has advised a wide range of clients including local government, multi-national corporations and start-ups. She started her career in the City of London, at the international law firms of White & Case and, subsequently, Berwin Leighton Paisner, where she developed a keen interest in multi-national transactions involving intellectual property assets. Anna’s legal expertise was greatly developed further by her in-house role as the EMEA Corporate Counsel for Corbis Images (now Branded Entertainment Network) where she provided legal advice and managed litigation relating to all matters in the region. She experienced first-hand – and advised on – the whole gamut of legal issues relating photography, be it digital or analogue, editorial or commercial,  curated or paparazzi. She continues to be a firm believer in the vitality and the future of the photographic industry and as such founded Open Plan Law – a boutique legal practice for the industry, offering it the focused expertise of a law firm with a strategic insight of an in-house counsel. She advises the British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies, as well as PICSEL, the new collecting society for the sector. She is a member of the Copyright and Technology Working Group of the British Copyright Council.
